Student C
Student C is an 11 year-old student who finds writing almost impossible. Prior to using JTWS Structured Writing System paper, he shut down multiple times a day when asked to write something by hand. He used capital letters intermittently for confusing lower-case letters (p,q; b,d) and did not incorporate short and tall letters in his writing. He was not able to control the placement of his letters on the lines or spacing between words.
Using JTWS Structured Writing System paper allowed the student to see the lines better and to begin to understand the relationship between the size of letters and their placement on the lines.
After six months, the student shows improvement in his ability to have his letters sit on the line instead of floating upward and he is better able to demonstrate the difference in size of tall and short letters. He now has spacing between his words.
